The first three pictures that I have posted are from pinterest. These photos helped us with our idea to create a fort made out of sticks. The fourth picture above is from the artist Patrick Dougherty. He inspired us to use sticks to create a piece of art. The last picture from above is of the fort that me and my fellow artists in my class have created. I really think the piece came out well. We definitely aren't as skilled as Patrick Dougherty. He really does create beautiful art work and one day I would love to be as known as he is for my artwork. To make our fort we gathered as many sticks as we could find, we found a sturdy tree we could lean the sticks against, and that's just what we did. You were actually able to sit inside of the fort although it is not shown here. It was a very fun experience.

The type of sculpture that I chose, which is above, is a clay slab tile. The way that you create this art work takes a lot of steps. You need to know how to score and slip because that's one of the most important necessities to create this. what I did was use the exacto-knife to cut out the leaves and the flower petals. Then I score and slipped them onto the slab tile. I put the piece into the kiln I used acrylic paint to make the art pop! |
